Training Workshop Series on Gender Sensitization in Greening the National Industry.

The gender sensitization training is a part of a larger gender mainstreaming effort that encompasses gender analysis in the Eastern Partnership countries. It assesses the gender-differentiated impacts of the project issues in the six partners countries, it collects sex-disaggregated baseline data, and it identifies government agencies, NGOs, community-based organizations, and women’s associations or groups whose work focuses on gender and the environment. It also assesses gender knowledge and sensitivity of project stakeholders, and develops a plan of action for mainstreaming gender into the project and agendas of its partners.

UNIDO is organizing an awareness workshop on Eco-Industrial Parks with focus on EaP and Central Asian countries. 2.12.20

The online Workshop will:
•Raise awareness among key stakeholders in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asian countries on the approach and benefits of implementing the eco-industrial parks
•Share international experiences on the implementation of EIPs
•Bring together decision-makers, specialized professionals, and members of academia to tap into possible synergies among institutions

The impact of COVID-19 on Trade and structural transformation in Georgia: Evidence from UNECE’s survey of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, 30.09.2020

This online meeting was dedicated to presenting the finds emerging from the United Nations Economic Commission (UNECE) review of the impact of the crisis on the Georgian economy. The review was based on a survey of 330 micro, small and medium enterprises MSMEs from across the country, including 226 manufacturing and trading enterprises and 104 farmers, and major forwarders operating in the country. The review traced how non-tariff measures (NTMs) governing trade in goods influenced end-to-end supply chains and captured the lingering effects of the pandemic and their implications for achieving the 2030 sustainable development goals (SDGs).

Second Meeting of the EU4Environment Regional Assembly,22 September by videoconference (Zoom)


Following the virtual EU4Environment consultations with the EaP countries in May-July 2020, a virtual Regional Assembly meeting was organized on 22 September 2020, to replace the in-person event that was initially planned for the same date.

The EU4Environment Regional Assembly has been discussed:

  • the results and progress on the EU4Environment implementation,
  • necessary adjustments to work plans for 2020-21, including those stemming from impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic;
  • progress on communication; and
  • the EU Green Deal context and the EaP Ministerial Conference on Environment and Climate Change (planned for 22 October 2020).

Workshop “Energy management and auditing”, 10-13 August 2020


A workshop on ”Energy management” is part of the specialized RECP training within the programme “European Union for Environment (EU4Environment)”. The workshop prepared internal energy auditors and internal energy managers especially in SME with a practical approach to an energy audit, with knowledge on typical hot spots for energy efficiency in SME, and an approach how to (quickly) identify cost/benefit for efficient solutions.

Workshop “Environmental management system”, 30-31 2020


On July 30-31, 2020 within EU4Environment Programme framework Johannes Fresner delivered a workshop “Environmental Management Systems” to RECP experts from EaP countries. The Ukrainian RECP Centre organized this workshop as part of specialized RECP trainings within the EU4Environment Programme.

The workshop lasted for two half-days, each consisted of two main activity sessions. There were several theoretical sessions followed by interesting practical assignments designed for the RECP experts .

The agenda covered the following items:

  • Environmental management: ISO 14001, high level structure, continuous improvement, EMS as a continuation of RECP, benefits of EMS, success factors, management commitment;
  • Organisation and environment: Stakeholder analysis, context of the organisation, environmental policy, and environmental team;
  • Planning environmental aspects, risk-based thinking, compliance obligations, objectives, action plan;
  • EMS elements 1: Competence, awareness, communication and documentation;
  • EMS elements 2: Operational planning and control, emergency preparedness, performance evaluation, internal audit, management review.

Approbation of Pocket Guide for Construction Materials Sector Specialists, EaP GREEN Program’s RECP Demonstration Component

 In 2016, as a part of EaP GREEN Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) program funded by the EU, RECP Technology Pocket Guide for specialists working in construction materials sector and roads construction materials production was prepared and published in national languages of the six EaP countries.

To promote wide distribution and use of the pocket guide in EaP countries on-line seminar is organized for specialists working in the enterprises as well as organizations of these branches in the EU Eastern Partnership countries, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.

On-line seminar shall be organized and conducted by the Belarusian Center for Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production, established as a result of the EaP GREEN RECP Demonstration component implementation led by UNIDO in 2014 – 2017.

Training on Financial Analysis of Investment Project Scenarios with Application of COMFAR (Computer Model for Feasibility Analysis and Reporting) software has started today on October 23,2017 in Tbilisi. This 5 day training is organized within the framework of UNIDO supported RECP Demonstration Project in Georgia and is intended to build capacity in Georgia in investment projects preparation and financial appraisal the RECP project in Georgia.

This training course is intended for the representatives of  Georgian banks, Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs), consulting companies, governmental and non-governmental sector representatives which are involved in identification, formulation, evaluation and promotion of investment projects; students with respective educational background such as accounting, economics, financial management, projects management, etc.
